Tesla Model 3 Uneven Thin Paint Issue

Owners of the Tesla Model 3 or Teslas in general are still reporting uneven paint issues. What’s worse is the service center is now pushing back saying it’s normal. Stand firm and have Tesla fix it. If you are lucky enough, just don’t take delivery until they fix it.

“Quick poll, I found thin paint on my car and the service center wants me to accept that it is normal for teslas. Should I push back?”

You’d have to look closely, but basically the paint seems thinner (showing a little whitish hue in some areas.

Tesla Service Centers now claiming this is normal.

Is this normal?

It’s not. Mine is scheduled for a full repaint. Only problem is there are 317 cars in front of me so I have to wait until April or May.

I had all my ‘thin’ paint issues noted and will take it back when the body shops are not so backed up. Show them and have them noted they will keep an ‘open’ order for you to come back when can leave it.

If you’re lucky and an owner of the White Tesla Model 3, you probably won’t notice these imperfections, but if you notice this on any other color, push back and ask Tesla to fix it.
