Lauren Balsamo went to New York City Bagel & Coffee House in Astoria without a face mask. Some other customers that felt unsafe about this talked about her not wearing a mask. Lauren lashed out calling yelling “pussy, you’re just a pussy! say it to my face!” and proceeded to cough at the other customers. Workers of New York City Bagel & Coffee House stayed away and continued to work.

Weill Cornell has been bombarded with messages since and has addressed Lauren.
Lauren Balsamo has not been an employee of WCM since Jan. 2020. As an institution on the COVID-19 frontlines, this behavior is shocking & abhorrent to us. Since WCM’s mission is to protect the health & wellbeing of all NYers, we condemn this flagrant disregard of public safety.
I hope they track her down and shame her. That’s disgusting behavior. She may be asymptomatic and now has spread the virus to an innocent person.
